Cinema One Global Reimagining

We will be posting some of the new works we just finished at Plus63 Design Co… well once we finish our own site. Haha. We’ve been busy for these past few months doing some identity design works for a chocolate brand, a photographer, a production studio among others. One of the works we’ve done was the reimagining of the broadcast design of Cinema One Global. It’s a different brand from the local Cinema Onel ocal cable channel, but it’s owned by the same company. 

The redesign of the logo was done by the in-house design team of Cinema One, but we did the broadcast and print applications. We tweaked their logo a bit, so it will work in different applications.

A Rationale of the design direction for the design applications:

The logo design is colorful, and thus we magnified it’s richness by rendering it with an explosion of hue and movement, reflecting our passion-filled tropical fiestas. Spun like a colorful pinwheel, the “banderitas” or each color flag leaps out to project scenes from a film with accompanying titles. Each color and combination represents the major themes and film categories.

The logo, as rich as a color wheel, spins to reveal the wealth of Philippine cinema.

It was  also a conscious decision to make it different from the previous Cinema One materials.
