I thought of sharing these bits of info about myself after seeing the keynote file of my usual first day class lecture/introduction in the UP College of Fine Arts. 

Yep, my favorite color is pink. My iPhone case is pink, my umbrella is pink, my laptop sleeve is pink, a bunch of my other stuff are pink. My favorite character in the Manga Bleach wears pink as well. His name is Kyoraku Shunsui. Back in the ’40s, pink was a masculine color (Wikipedia).

Yep, I love Gotham and Knockout. There’s been quite a bit of “hate” for Gotham these days because of overuse. I don’t get it though. Why hate a font, right? My recent favorites are Scene and Droid Sans. If you want high-quality new fonts drop by YouWorkForThem.

My all time favorite creative people are these three. I’ll just link you to their Wikipedia entries: Bruno Munari, Yoshitomo Nara & H.R. Ocampo.

Design as Art by Bruno Munari is one of my all time favorite books. It’s a shame you don’t see it in the shelves of bookstores here in the Philippines. I got my copy in a small bookstore in Venice when I was on vacation. If you’re a creative person, this is a must read. If you want to borrow my copy, just send me a message.

Another must read book is John Berger’s Ways of Seeing.

Turon, is the best merienda (snack) ever. The best turon in the world (so far) is the one here in Katipunan (along Esteban Abada, right beside Superstars store). You should see how the manong cooks the turon, it’s genius. Other interesting turons are the sticky rice turon in Krus na Ligas, Halo-Halo turon of Kanin Club & the turon of Sonya’s Garden.

Hmmm… I should make a Philippine Tuor-on Guide. Hahaha. :P

Yep, that’s my UP student number. Got into the College of Fine Arts in ‘99 and graduated in ‘03. Some of batchmates and classmates were Mannix Abrera of Kiko Machine, Mark Nicdao (the fashion photographer) and my mates in Ideals Creatives.
